The pictures below are taken from a cab ride in D1015 from Banbury to
Birmingham whilst working Railtour 6 on December 7th 2002. Many thanks to
both EWS and the DTG for facilitating this opportunity.
D1015 stands at Banbury.
The second mans view, awaiting the road at Banbury.
Although we were following a unit and thus we were heavily
checked, some high speeds were possible. Here D1015 has 76 MPH on
the clock, is at full power (1,530 RPM) and is accelerating hard.
Running in towards Leamington Spa.
The view of the M40, near Warwick.
Another view of the M40 from D1015.
Checked again we recover from 20MPH, Maybachs at full power
again.
Approaching Tyseley, we have a "green" at last.
Slowing down at Bordesley for the turn off the GWR mainline
onto the spur to the Camp Hill line.
Passing the former Carrs paints factory on the left.
All wizzo bashers will remember the huge fans here as we were nearly
always checked at this point.
A clear run into New St, with the Birmingham skyline in the background.
